The Ontario Lacrosse Sixes Sector is a new, fast-paced format of lacrosse introduced to enhance the sport's development and accessibility across Ontario. It merges the most thrilling aspects of traditional lacrosse into a compact, dynamic version, designed to promote the sport on a global scale, including its integration into the Olympic Games.

The Sixes Sector is open to boys and girls across multiple age divisions. For the 2024 season, the divisions are as follows:
Boys: U9, U11, U13, U15, U17, U22
Girls: U9, U11, U13, U15, U17, U19

U9: Ages 6, 7, and 8 (Birth years 2016, 2017, 2018)
U11: Ages 9 and 10 (Birth years 2014, 2015)
U13: Ages 11 and 12 (Birth years 2012, 2013)
U15: Ages 13 and 14 (Girls Only, Birth years 2010, 2011)
U17: Ages 15 and 16 (Girls Only, Birth years 2008, 2009)

The inaugural Sixes season ran fall of 2024. Season starts late August, culminating with Provincials in late October.

Games are played under World Lacrosse Sixes rules, consisting of four quarters of 8 minutes running time each. Teams require a legally equipped goalie and five runners to start a game. The full rulebook can be found here.

Existing OLA players should contact their home association for registration details. New players can find their local club and register through our interactive map at playlacrosse.com.

Boys will require Full Hockey or Field Lacrosse Helmet, Gloves, Cup, Mouth Guard and Stick.
Girls will follow OWFL equipment guidelines. Goggles, Stick.
Goalies for Boys and Girls will abide by OMFLL and OWFL rules respectively, with the exception that Girls can have hockey helmets with throat-protection.
FAQs FOR CLUBS

Your association must declare your team and pay the Team Entry Fee prior to first game. Rosters lock September 30th.

Each team can roster a maximum of 15 players, including a goalie. ONLY 12 are permitted on any game sheet.

All certified coaches and trainers from any OLA sector in the current season are automatically certified for Sixes upon registration in a Sixes product on SportzSoft.

Officials must complete an online Sixes module to officiate Sixes games.

Once teams are declared, Ontario Lacrosse will send a follow-up email to club's with a game request form. Club's must complete this form to request approval for their games, ensuring all competition is sanctioned.

Teams must play a minimum number of sanctioned games to qualify for the Provincial Championships. The deadline for payment for Provincials is September 30.
